hmmm...do you think we hang out enough?

Okay - so this is not TOTALLY a typical day but it makes me laugh at the stuff that we do just to occupy our time. It is a pleasure and a privilege to be able to stay at home with sweet Emma Kate. However, it is not always easy to keep a one year old entertained, especially when it is FREEZING outside. So - let me just give you a run down of my day - and you tell me if I am seeing Courtney and Ella enough.

7:30am - meet Elizabeth, Courtney and Ella at New Yorker for breakfast (where else!?)
8:30am - off to Cumberland Mall to exercise before the store opens, with Courtney! : ) Before we could go we had to let the girls ride the rides at the mall
9:30am - 11:00am - visit Northside Drive Baptist to learn more about preschool, with Courtney
11:30am - lunch and nap for Emma Kate
2:30pm - Old Navy - oh! guess who met us there - Courtney and Ella of course
3:30pm - still 3 hours til the dads get home so we head to Borders to read and play and allow EK to have a few meltdowns when we tell her she can't have anymore fish.
4:30pm - Agh! Now what do we do? how about we go to Publix and push the girls in the uber cool cart - that I SWORE I would NEVER push! : ) But today it sounds like a GREAT idea!
4:45pm - ask for the free balloons at Publix - both in the same color just in case one shows preference over the other. they no longer have the free balloons at the store so I walk away. Emma Kate realizes what is happening and Courtney says, "why dont we just buy one" - does she know EK well or what!!?! So we buy them.
5:00pm - walking out to the cars with our huge cart and two beautiful girls and one balloon flies away. great. then putting emma kate in the car with the one remaining balloon and guess what - it flies off too - recovered 3 minutes later in a bush. THANK GOODNESS! That would have been a very very very long ride home.

so blah blah blah - then we head home, cook dinner and the rest is a blur. I am thankful for sweet friends who can appreciate doing "nothing much" and still feel completely satisfied at the end of the day. we are going to need to come up with some more creative and inexpensive outings. If you have suggestions please let me know!

  2. joy here. this sounds like a perfect winter day! she must be good in the car - we are still working on that. maybe when we turn around the car seat, M will like it better. i want to say that I GAVE COURT the mall-walking idea for winter walking ... unless you've done it before too! M and i sure don't mind being the only walkers at lenox and getting lots of stares. it's worth it to get somewhat active! other ideas for winter = pet store, bundling up in blankets and sitting outside anyway, um ... that's all i can think of right now. have fun!
