Never fear when Katie's around! yeah, right! But for real, I played a smalltime hero today! I just killed a snake. And not just any snake. it was a 6 foot rattle snake. okay, not really. he was only 3 ft long or so and i have not yet identified the species! he's definitely part of the nasty and nastier category. gross!!!
in other news - harper darper is starting to get a mind of her own. sure, a few of you are thinking, 'its about time', but if the last two days are any indication of what is to come, art and i are really in for it!!! she's only 8 months old so its not like shes getting into trouble or anything. lately shes decided to stop napping. weird. she's not particular about what she eats, just insists that you keep the food coming as quickly as she can get it in her mouth. she prefers being held- i know thats normal, but she hasnt really had has that preference. i think she has learned early (from her sister, no doubt) how to manipulate/play us. those big crocodile tears work everytime. maybe she's been thinking all along that if she plays cute and adorable and low maintenance the first 8 months, she can get away with anything after that! man, she's smart!
really though - harper is awesome!!! she's so good, laughs and smiles most of the time. definitely cries when she's not getting her way, but she's content most days! she loves her sister - and i mean lOveS her sister! Its the sweetest thing how she reacts when emma kate comes into her view.

So, do we have pictures of this creature? Also, is this written by a blonde-turned-brunette? We want to see more pictures so we can get accustomed to the change.
