Life is good! We had a great weekend with the "in-laws" as they say! Flo and Curt are super! They love us AND Emma Kate so much! It is sweet to see how they love on her and just enjoy their time with her. Papa Curt is a no-frills, no-mess kind of guy. So, if you know me, and you know how 'afraid' I am of just about everything - he and I should not mix well. In, fact the opposite is true! I play it tough (or try to anyway) while we are there. Naturally, Emma Kate also needs to be tough and thankfully she was super excited to give all kinds of new things a try! The first day we were there she ran screaming from all water-related things (which is very out of character for our girl). By Saturday she was making her Papa proud by hanging out on the jet-ski, the fishing boat and the tube and just by being her!!! She's pretty likeable for the most part!!!
And then there's Nana! Nana is an outdoorsy girl BUT is a master of the kitchen and of crafts! Whew - she can wear a girl out!!! But again, I try to hold my own and get ek in there. We made cupcakes, baked ziti (thanks Court), rice krispie treats, a necklace for ella, played with paper dolls and who knows what else! It was fun!PICTURE OF NANA TO COME!
So here's to Nana and Papa! Have a great trip! We will think of you daily and talk all about you while you are away! Enjoy the cool weather and 0% humidity! See you in the fall!!! But talk to you sooner!!! We love you a lot! And thank you for loving our Emma Kate so much! Your love for her means so much to us! And it is obvious how much she loves you both too!!!
She is so brave. I love that she got on that tube. What fun.
